About a week ago, my DH decided to change our baby name from Annika Day to the unknown...... well, we have FINALLY come to a conclusion that we love the nickname Katie, but we want her to have a more sophisticated, grown up name to go along with that... However, the problem is that I don't love the name Katherine, Katelyn, Katrina, or Kate... so what do we do? Just name her Katie? Do you think it'll hold her back in life if she wants to be something prestigious like the President? (Hey, ya never know! We parents have HIGH HOPES for our kids! LOL!)

Re: Last Minute Baby Girl Name HELP
I *really* love Pinterest!
I would pick any names that lead to K.T. initials and call her Katie.
Or you could even use Annika nn Katie. I think that's a reasonable stretch.
I like Katie, but I do think everyone will always assume it's a nickname, and she may want to fall back on a more formal version at different points in her life.
For what it's worth, I adore Annika Day. When I realized no Ann- name would work with our last name, I was really bummed.
Good luck!
I like Adele because it reminds me of Edelweiss (Sound of Music), which is a song my mom sang to me as a child and what I sing to my son every night.
So since Katie/Katherine means Pure. She'll be my pure, white blossom of snow. ;-)
I love Katherine Adele. It's very sophisticated. I also love the names that the PP's suggested. FWIW, my niece's name is Kaitlyn, but we almost never call her that. She goes by Katie 99% of the time because that's what her parents liked. I think if you start calling her Katie, the name will stick and her "real" name will only be used in rare situations.
I really like Katherine Adele. Sounds very pretty together!
Katherine Adele is GORGEOUS! I totally love it!
(Don't worry, I'm having a boy and won't steal it :-) haha)
It's so classy...
