I'm trying to do more finger foods with DD and I really like the wholesome baby food website. I just have some questions about storing the food. I send DD to my SILs house while I go to work so I would like to prepare things ahead of time. I baked some apples this weekend for DD and she loved them. Right now I have leftovers an the fridge but how long do you think they will be good for? Also, do you think I could freeze them? Same question goes for veggies like peas, carrots... Thank you ladies! What other finger foods are you giving LO? We have done bananas, pancakes, toast, cheese, and pasta.
Re: Wholesome baby food
The wholesome baby food website has some really good info about storage. There is a chart for how long you can keep each thing and if it freezes well. I think in general, the limit is three days in the fridge and 2 months in the freezer. I have had good luck freezing pureed apples.
DD loves finger foods. So far she's only had cheerios, pears, peaches, and broccoli. My main concern right now is making sure that she doesn't gag herself by cramming too much food in her mouth. I have to pace her by giving her just a few pieces at a time - the other day she got 7 cheerios in her mouth! It's so fun watching her feed herself, though.
