when are you registering (if you are)?

I'm due 8/16 and we are thinking of registering next weekend. Someone offered to throw me a shower in April and my husband won't be home any weekends in March except for next weekend. Since we are not finding out the gender, I feel like we can go ahead and start. Thoughts???

I will register in the next week or two. From what I understand it might take several trips as well as some online shopping to get everything on the list. I was overwhelmed just walking in the store last weekend!

I think you can register whenever you want to. I'll probably wait until 20 weeks when we know the gender, but most of the items be gender neutral anyway.

I started registering for the basics online yesterday. I just want to get a head start and feel like I've got something done! I don't think it hurts at all to register early.

I have already started ours on BRU and Amazon and will change things up once I know if it is a boy/girl. I did not want to rush and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed.

This. I liked doing it online rather than in-store because I could see customer ratings and search for recommended items on TB. I made one on Target as well, but mainly for CD items. They had a lot of brands that BRU didn't (such as Thirsties).

I have no idea about a shower. Not sure who would throw it. I made registries on Amazon and Target. Necessities on Amazon, wants on Target. I've been playing with registries since, uh... before pregnancy

It's helpful to see everything laid out that we NEED (on Amazon) so we know how much money we'll need to gather. As for a shower... I don't expect much, but who knows. Maybe we'll have a better feeling once we announce to family this coming week.

I actually started my registry on Amazon after my first BFP, so many items were already in my list when I found out that I was pregnant with this LO. As this will be my first, I had a co-worker send me a list of absolute necessities, along with any recommendations for specific brands. Her daughter was born in July 2011, so she was able to give me some great feedback.

I'm looking forward to registering for more "fun stuff" after we find out the gender on March 15th. Where are you planning to register?

We've already started one with BRU online (made private, so noone can see it), but will be going in to the store after we find out the gender to finish the registry.

We have the same due date! I actually started my online registry last nite for Babies R Us! I'd live to do Buy Buy Baby but it's not close enough.

Since we are planning to find out the sex and not tell anyone else, I'd like to do it right BEFORE the a/s so that knowing doesn't subtly influence any of my picks.

I had already started a BRU registry for my last pregnancy when I was around the 16 week mark, when I lost her I never deleted the registry or anything. About a week ago I logged on there and changed the due date and just started deleting and adding some things.

DH and I will go together to the store sometime after the a/s together and add some little things (because we have fun with the little scan gun).

I've been working on my registries online the whole pregnancy (amazon and BBB) but will go to the store and add some gender specific things once we learn the gender. Probably won't take dh as he really has no knowledge or preference on baby gear.

We've started registering a little already on Amazon and BRU. As much fun as it is to go into the store and look at everything, it's very overwhelming and then you come home and end up deleting half the stuff when you see the reviews.

We will be making the big trip after the 20-week ultrasound. I went ahead and made a non-published online list on target.com so I wouldn't forget a few things. (My memory is absolutely terrible during pg). I will probably add online-only items after we get it all set up in the store.

In your situation...I don't see why you couldn't start!
