So...did anything really happen between Mary and Pamook? Like did they sleep together? Or just make out? I somehow missed that part and I guess I could go back and try to find it but I'm trying to get through the episodes while DH is playing poker tonight. Last night he came in and was asking me all these questions while I was trying to watch b/c he thought I was watching a Jane Austin movie. Sigh. I guess at least he knows who Jane Austen is?

They don't ever really give out anymore details than what you saw, I assume they did more than just kiss, but Mary's not one to kiss and tell

I think the implication is that they had sex because when she talks about it, she keeps referring to herself as "damaged goods" and I just can't imagine that she would feel so strongly had it just been a little making out.

At some point she refers to him as her lover, so I'm pretty sure they did more than make out. :-)

In the scene where he's convincing her to let him stay, she says she won't sleep with him and he says there are other things they can do. I interpreted it as they did everything but. It fits with the attitudes of the time that even if they didn't have sex, she'd feel "ruined" over going so far.

That makes sense. I think that's what confused me b/c he said he wouldn't, but then she made reference to being unworthy of being married.
