Ideas for themed smash cake?!

For Los birthday we are having a treasure Chest cake made.. It's going to be so cool! But I'm having trouble with a smash cake! It's a pirate themed birthday and they are making me a smash cake for free.. Any ideas? I was thinking about maybe doing a T or a number 1 but I kind of wanted to go with the whole pirate theme..

    My first thought was a cannon ball . . . :-)  That may not be the best idea ever.  How about a colorful parrot or a treasure map?

    I like the treasure map idea of PP.  What about doing a smaller treasure chest, or a large single coin?
