Any diaper ointment recommendations?

Can you recommend a diaper ointment? I've heard great things about Butt Paste but I'm wondering if there is something else out there? Or if an ointment is even necessary.

I love Balmex for the first sign of redness. It knocks it right out. My DD has never had a real rash. I've already bought my tube for the new baby. The last one lasted two years!

A family I was a nanny for always used Aquaphor. It worked great. That's what I plan on using for my LO.

Desitin (in a blue tube) came in a sampler thing of J&J products and it worked well the 2 or 3 times we needed it.

We loooove Burts Bees. It smells nice and herbal-y, not chemical-y. And it works as well as anything else we've tried.

we use A & D every day, but every now and again, if DD's tushie is getting a little red, we use desitin.

My pedi recommended using Bag Balm. When DS had a horrible diaper rash last week due to diarrhea, it worked wonders. Cleared it up completely within 2 days.

We've had good luck with Triple Paste. A lot of reviews say it works when nothing else would, so we just started with it and it's worked well.

I've used Desitin and it's great, but the Target Up&Up equivalent is equally great and costs half as much. I use it only when I see reddened skin.

I had a sample of the Butt Paste so I tried it. It has a rather weird smell IMO and its pricy, so I won't buy it.

I swear by A+D now. We used Desitin and Boudreaux's at first and they seemed just fine. But then DS had to take antibiotics, which caused diarrhea and a really bad diaper rash. His bum was so red. The pharmacist suggested A+D and I swear it cleared up within one day.

A 50/50 mix of Aquaphor and purple Desitin. Knocked Bean's cracked & bleeding diaper rash out in 2 days. I keep a jar of it in the nursery, in the car, and in the fridge (cold is nice on that hot rash).

I liked A&D for teething rash on his little face.
