Is There A "Daughter of " Suffix??

I know that Jameson = Son of James, etc.... but is there a "daughter of..." suffix?

In Hebrew, and I assume Arabic, 'Bat' isn't a suffix, but a prefix.

Since women used to take their husbands name, no, not really. In Poland though "ski" is for males, "ska" for females. It's traditional and not always followed though.

My last name is Polish and ends in "-cka" instead of "-cki." I met another Polish woman one day who was just astounded that my father had the feminine form of our last name. I dunno - we've had it for generations in America!

One of my good friends is from Serbia and does the "-ska" and "-ski." Our wedding calligrapher called me a few times to be sure I was spelling the names properly. She had never seen it before.

Ah. My friend is Spanish and her husband is Czech. Their baby is Natalka (his name is Nator).
