I just started my dairy/soy free diet in the hopes that my daughter's eczema starts to improve. I switched to almond milk, dairy/soy free butter spread, paid attention to the bread ingredients. Have you found any surprising items that have dairy or soy? I'm trying to be as good as possible w this but I'm not sure I know all the products or ingredient names to be careful of. Tia! Also-please tell me my cheese cravings will subside !
Soy can be any kind of vegetable oil/margarine or any kind of "natural flavorings" mentioned on a package and guar gum. Honestly, most packaged foods have soy hidden in them somewhere.
ETA: when we removed soy (which he later tested as allergic) and strawberries, peaches, grapes/raisins from my son's diet (he's not allergic to the fruits but they cause eczema for him), his eczema went away completely. I can always tell when he's eaten something he shouldn't have because that's the only time he gets it.

i was sooo surprised at how many things have hidden dairy & soy. basically anything processed has soy in it. you have to really read the labels of everything.i was surprised that chicken nuggets have milk/soy in them & that most breads have milk/soy too.
Thanks for the replies ladies. I guess there are much worse things that can happen besides having to cut out processed foods! Funny side story-yesterday my dh walked into the kitchen and caught me staring longingly at a bag of chocolate chips in the cabinet. I need to find a store near me w a larger selection of enjoy life!
I don't think this has Soy in it & I know it's dairy free but Trader Joe's has a really yummy "Cream Cheese". It's in a white tub with red writing on it. My Son loves it so much.

We get ours on Amazon by the box
I usually go right to the organic things in the market because they typically have fewer ingredients and less garbage that I can't understand or pronounce.
Fortunate to be a SAHM to my 3 musketeers (5/2006, 5/2010 & 12/2011).
Soy & dairy free for the 3rd and final time.

The McCorrmick spaghetti packages have dairy! I didn't realize it for the longest time and felt like such an idiot!
Hang in there!!
