Hello!
This is my intro, and I have a few Q's. Although we are not yet TTC. I have been lurking for a few days but I am an avid nester so I'm used to posting and getting involved.
I read your newbie link and its super helpful, TY.
I have been using FF for a few years to track/predict my menstrual cycle as I've always had a gnarly long AF. I started taking my temp mid Jan. and I think I O-ed on CD17 in Jan. and CD 19 or 20 this month. It seems like I have an 8 day LF, which has me a bit concerned. What do you think?
I have a copper (non hormonal) Paragard IUD that I've had for 8.5 years. I'm not sure if that can effect my cycle & LF.
DH and I are talking about trying this year, I would like to have the IUD removed before June, that will be my 30th birthday, and I'm feeling my clock tick with some force!
I started taking a multi vitamin in January. I plan to take them for a minimum of 3 mo. so that lands me at about April for my IUD removal.
I have a preconception appt to meet my OB on March 5th, and I plan to ask her this Q, but have any of you read or had issues with a long term copper IUD and it prolonging conception after removal? I have googled it but I would like real stories and experiences.
Thanks!!
Re: TTC after IUD removal
Paragard shouldn't give you any problems post-removal because it's not hormonal. I'm sure you'll have some slight shifts and changes (for example, your flow will probably be lighter), but everything should be in working order!
You still ovulate with a Paragard in place. How do I know? I'm one of those people who got pregnant with one in--my fertilized egg is sitting right in front of me eating a cheese stick! You shouldn't have to wait for your cycles to regulate that much.
Good luck!
**Urban, you got pregnant with it in?! Yikes, that's rare. Glad it worked out though!
Thanks for sharing your stories. I hope the Dr. will say the same thing. I will have to just see if my short LP has any negative repercussions.
