Pregnant after IF

Leg cramps

Anyone else getting bad leg cramps? They keep waking me up at night, usually when I stretch or change positions. What have you found to relieve them?

Re: Leg cramps

  • I get these all the time. First of all, eat bananas. The potassium helps a lot. Then, when you stretch, flex your toes, don't point them. If you start getting a leg cramp, flex those toes right away, no matter how much it hurts!

    I'm allergic to bananas. *sadfaces*

Off to look up other foods with potassium.

  • I have been getting these on and off ever since by bfp. I find staying well hydrated helps ward them off as well. Once they set in, I usually have to walk around until the muscles calm down enough to get back in bed.

    Potatoes have potassium also.

  • Other foods high in potassium are avocados, pistachios, dark chocolate (yay!), potatoes, mango, cantelope, and sweet potatoes. Coconut water is high in potassium as well!

My mom is potassium deficient and hates banannas, so I've been looking for other things for her to eat and drink!!

  • My doctor told me to make sure to stay hydrated.  I usually have to walk them off.  I will try to the potassium, I didn't hear about that!

  • I get these pretty bad.  I havent found a solution, my doctor said it isn't potassium, it is a blood  vessel restriction caused by growth of the uterus.  Sorry, but I was told bananas dont help and to just try and not stretch during my sleep.
