2IF Weekly Update - 2/24/12

Hi ladies!

Now that the bump is back I can do the update! Woohoo! Hope everyone had a great week!

A huge congrats to LLB430 on your crazy, miracle BFP and nealbl on your BFP this week! Please keep us updated on the upcoming betas and U/S that you might have. Graduates always give us hope and we look forward to hearing more bfps and birth announcements soon!

We welcome every member(graduates, current, lurkers, newbies etc.) to post an update each week. This gives us all an idea of where you are in your cycle or how you're doing. This is such a great place to meet other women in similar circumstances to share experiences, cheer each other on, get info and offer support.

A BIG WELCOME to all OUR NEW 2IFers!

Please post your update below Big Smile

Re: 2IF Weekly Update - 2/24/12

  • Update: CD 20 of a break cycle. Just hoping it flies by so I can start my next injectable cycle in March.

QOTW: Don't think of time when dealing with IF. It will only make you depressed and anxious. Think of each cycle as your first.

  • Update: just counting down to the 8th when we are scheduled to see the heartbeat. Trying not to let my anxiety get the best of me!

Qotw: I initially was resistant to going to a RE bc I LOVE my OBGYN practice. But with much encouragement from these boards I slowly began to accept that a rE was best for me. I loved knowing what to expect out of each cycle through the monitoring. Ultimatley I got the surprise of my life last week but without me RE I never would have had answers so quickly.

Thank you again ladies for all of your support! I am pulling for all of you!

  • Hi, former Lurker, new member.  Today is cd16 for me, so I am just counting down to testing.  I start taking the prometrium tomorrow.  (O is off on my ticker)  Just going to attempt to stay somewhat sane over the next week, and hope it goes by very quickly.

qotw: surrounding yourself with at least a few people who understand is so important and helpful.

  • Thanks for the shout out! Still so nervous though. So I use to be afraid to pee to see blood and that AF was coming now I am even more afraid to see blood and M/C coming. It is hard for me to even enjoy the pregnancy

Advice: come here! Seriously I learned so much from this board just through conversation.

  • I finally have an update, never thought I would be so happy for AF to show up.  Today is CD2 - going to the office on bloodwork.

QOTW - It is ok to be proactive, and don't be afraid to ask questions.

    Trying to conceive #2 since Oct. 2008 BFP 6/14/11, 7/5/11 - Gestational Sac measured 7 weeks 6 days, Baby measured 5 weeks 6 days, No Heartbeat, 7/11/11 - Missed Miscarriage confirmed, 7/18/11 - D&C
  • UPDATE:  Trigger was Thursday with IUI #3 Friday....so I am now in the 2 ww of hell! I need a cycle buddy!

I am really optimistic for this cycle but don't want to get my hopes up either.  Everything was times perfectly, did acupuncture the night before IUI to prepare my uterus etc and have been taking my herbs for about 1.5 months now.  I really hope it helps!

QOTW:  I guess I would say arm yourself with as much information as possible.  It helps me feel in control when I understand everything.  I also think only you can advocate for your very best care and you know your body.

  • Update: Doing everything I can to not track - though I know my body well enough now that I don't need to.  So based on non-tracking, I'm 5DPO, solidly in the 2ww.  And because I'm not tracking, it's going faster... thank goodness.  I really needed an emotional break - being able to not track just following a break cycle, I've been much happier, much more open to the healing process that needs to happen regardless of whether or not I'm ever successful.

QOTW: My best advice is to get over negative ideas about going to a fertility specialist and see an RE as soon as possible.  OBGYNs just don't have the training to help most of us, in spite of their best intentions.  Also, be your own educated advocate when it comes to your care and treatment.  You are the only one who knows how your body feels!

  • UPDATE: We are finishing up the contract for the surrogate and it looks like the transfer will be April 9th or 11th.  I am very optimistic and excited and I am actually letting myself think about a new baby.

QOTW: I would tell them not to compare their situation to anyone else.  Everyone is different and everyone has different experiences.  I would also suggest that they talk to someone.  No one I know has the same experience as me and I have found my therapist and of course this board to be my life line.
