Cramping or Gas?

I am 12 weeks, 1 day. I have had some mild pains all day and I can't tell if it's cramping (no spotting at all) or just plain, old-fashioned gas. Is anyone else experiencing this? I don't want to call my doctor to just have her tell me to try to pass some gas.

I get cramps if I have to poop or if I have gas, so yes, it could be cramps from gas. Also, cramps are common in the first trimester. If you want to call your doc or advice nurse, go ahead. It usually eases patient's minds and they don't mind.

have you tried anything to relieve the gas to see if it is actually cramps?

I am 12 weeks and had fairly serious cramps ALL day 3 days ago. They hurt really bad and I was also super nauseous. I could tell they were different from ligament pain too. It was terrible....I was cringing

I had myself worked up about it, so I called my doctor at the end of the day and she said it's normal in the first trimester, especially if there's no bleeding. She told me to take Tylenol. After I found out it was normal, and took Tylenol and drank lots of water, I went to bed and woke up feeling much better. Still had a tender belly, but no more cramps
