OB appointment with 2 year old.... FAIL

I don't think i've introduced myself here yet, but we're due August 31st.

 For some strange reason I thought Jack would be fine at this doc appointment since it was only a belly check and DH wasn't able to take off work for it.  He was good for the first 10 minutes, but when the doc went to check for a heartbeat Jack decided to climb the scale and dig in the trash, which ended the appointment without finding baby's heartbeat.  Doc said he wasn't worried and that my uterus is growing, yada yada, but for piece of mind I ordered the Sonoline B fetal doppler this morning. 

 

Daddy will be in attendance for all future appointments to wrangle the mister.

    Im due the 31st too!!! ive never taken my son to my appts for the fear he would be crazy there lol

    He's usually pretty good with our bag of tricks (books, elmo phone, finger puppets), but they just didn't work this time.  It also doesn't help that my ob is super nice and kept telling him it was okay to weigh himself, etc.  Ahh all I can do now is laugh.

    You are much braver than me for even attempting to take your toddler with you!! My son would go bananas in my OB's office. They are so cute at this age, though, aren't they?

    This is quite discouraging as I have an appt on Monday that I still cannot wrangle childcare for. I had just planned on putting Isaac in his stroller and hoping that he could stay calm in it for the 20 minutes it usually takes.

    I know the chances of that are slim to none though.

    Grrr.

     Ah well, I'll let you know how it goes ;)

    At 14 months he was pretty innocent.  I definitely need to update his picture! lol. 

     I usually bring the stroller, but lately he's been practically flailing himself out of it, so I thought he'd be good without.  I was actually kind of counting on his stranger danger fear, but it turns out he loves my new ob, so that wasn't very helpful. lol. 

     I'll keep my fingers crossed for you jackiback!  If it helps this is the first time he's ever been "bad" at an appointment in over 2 years!
