Total newb question... so the diaper is dirty.. now what?

So my son dirties the diaper... do I immediately go and spray it down then throw it in the diaper pail or do I just leave to poop on there and leave the diaper dry and take the insert out and throw it in the dry pail and wash it when I do laundry? I wash about ever 2 days. He is EBF and we use Charlie Banana pocket diapers. I want to make sure I am doing this right... thanks!
