Finger nails...

So just wondering do any of you second time moms know when you can cut your little ones nails? Mines are so long and I'm just wondering if there is an age when it's the right time to do it or not?

    We cut DD's right away, within the first week. They are so long and sharp and she was scratching herself all up. The gloves annoy me so we cut the nails. It was really easy that first time I did it because she was so sleepy she didn't care. I just cut them again yesterday and it took me a lot longer because she was getting annoyed that I was bugging her while she was sleeping trying to cut them.

    I used a nail file on my LO on the second day. Perhaps not as efficient, but way less scary!

    Right away should be fine.. just remember to still keep them on the long side. I remember with my first I cut him a teeny tiny bit.. like there wasn't even blood and I cried forever afterward! :)

    I cut our LO's fingernails this morning. She was sleeping and didn't notice much. We also filed them down a few days after she was born. They were so long!

    I used a nail file first and then used the clippers to cut his thumb nails which were super long.  Just make sure the nail is separate from the finger if you clip.

       I did this too and felt like the worst mother in the world. I cried while she didn't even make a peep. I agree that right away is perfectly fine. When you cut the fingernails, clip them so the clippers are pointing up with the fingernail instead of down so that you're pushing the fingernail upwards...if that makes any sense at all. LOL!
