Oh no. What does this mean???

So I posted the other night about having to take an HPT this morning per dr's orders. Well, stupid me completely forgot and my FMU got flushed! So anyway fastforward to about 20 minutes ago...I had bought 2 dollar store tests yesterday and I decided I'd try one tonight then use the other with my FMU tomorrow. Reading the test I took tonight, that mother effer came up as positive as could be. Crying

I'm talking a popped-right-up-extremely-noticable-test-line kind of positive. My bloodwork showed my numbers coming down after my m/c and so I completely expected a NEG result. This is so disappointing. What does this mean for me? Has anyone been asked by their Dr to take and HPT and call them with results? If your's came up positive, what was your Dr's next step? Did you have more bloodwork, an u/s or an appointment? I'm a little beside myself right now. If you've been through this can you offer some advice? Thanks so much ladies!

I'm so sorry sweetie.

That's good that your numbers are dropping, they just may not be dropping as quickly as you would like. Also, remember the line doesn't measure how much HCG you have, just that you have it. Take one again tomorrow morning and then call your doctor.

I am hoping things move along more quickly for you!

I agree with this. I had to take a blood test every week for 2 to 3 months for my Hcg levels to make sure they were down to 0.

Did you doc tell you what your last beta was? It's possible that you still aren't below the threshold that is detected by an HPT, but at the same time that your numbers are dropping. Try not to worry, as PP said, POAS tomorrow and if you get a +, call your doc. They will likely send you for a beta draw to get the actual number. Depending on what that number is, they may just send you for repeat draws one every week or two until you are <5, or they may want to do something else. GL tomorrow and please keep us posted....maybe you can send the +ve vibes my way and I'll send you the -ve hpt vibes that have been present in my world the last few days...what do you say...tradesies!?

My Dr didn't have me poas, but I had to go in once a week till my levels were low enough. They drop fast at first, But then slow down a bit. I had 4 things of b/w. 5352, 382, 64, then 8. After I got to 8 my Dr said I didn't have to come in anymore. Then the A/ F wait begins. Mine took 2weeks from last blood draw. Good luck tomorrow with your stick. And just remember, your levels are dropping, that's good. Your hpt will show pos as long as there is a hcg level as low as 5 I believe.

Nope. The only time DH and I had sex was last monday and thursday; too early to get a + hpt by those dates plus FF hasn't given me an O date since my m/c. I'm thinking my numbers are just slow to fall. Not that I'm in any rush, but I feel like a neg. hpt would give me a bit of closure if that makes sense. Seeing a positive is definitely not helping in that respect! I will never, ever forget this pregnancy but getting to zero sure would be a step in the right direction for TTC again in the future. Thanks for your reply Wicked. How are you doing?

This. It just takes some time for those levels to drop. I know how nerve wracking it is and....seeing that positive can be pretty heartbreaking. Hugs to you.
