  • There is a new test called Materniti21 or something similar. If it is the same one, it is actually already available in a small number of metro areas. It is still a screening test but is supposed to have a high level of accuracy for DS.

  • Lurking. . .

This test actually came out in October in select cities.  It is called MaterniT21 and the detection rate for T21 is supposedly 99%, although there are a small number of false positives, so they recommend amnio or CVS to confirm a positive result.  It can also detect T13 and T18.  It is currently only being offered to women who are at high risk (including those over 35).

  • I had read an article months and months ago about a blood test that can be done as early as 9weeks. In the article the headline was about detecting the sex through it.....they said it can detect genetic disorders too. I was a bit upset that the headline was about the gender instead of what i thought was the most important thing! I dont know if its the same test your talking about though. I think i remember reading that its already available in Europe too.

  • 90% seems pretty good.  I still am not a fan of those tests after I got a "false positive" during the Quad Screen.  But a data point is a data point.
