I know I shouldn't but the heartbeat of 78 is really freaking me out. I can't stop thinking about it and I'm really worried. My next appointment isn't until two weeks from tomorrow. If you were me, would you call the nurse tomorrow for reassurance and/or try to push for some sort of monitoring next week?
Argh!
Re: Should I call my nurse?
At the beginning of week six, the average embryo is only about 2mm, according to my pregnancy book.
And according to this site the average HB at 2mm is only 75: https://miscarriage.about.com/od/immediatemedicalconcerns/qt/normalfetalhr.htm
So it sounds like you are right on track for 6w0d.

Started TTC in 2006, LOTS of trying, and trying, and 7 rounds of IVF with 13 embryos, 2 perfect little boys and 5 loses....
All finished with babies, started to make diet changes, Keto, to be MORE for my kids, lost 30 pounds, still going, and 3 months in, I had a natural cycle, and then ovulated... Hubs and I are going to see what happens now... Maybe a natural pregnancy? After everything we have been through? Or just a return to normal hormones? We shall see what the future holds!
Baby Dust To All!!!
We still haven't heard anything, but this is what the u/s technician said this morning.
3 IUI's w/Clomid & Ovidrel=all BFNs
3 IVF (2 Fresh, 1 frozen) =BFN
Jan 2012 New RE & Fresh Cycle =BFP!
I second what the previous poster said. If it will make you feel better then call, but don't be concerned. My RE's office said only 50 percent of pregnancies have a HB at all at 6 weeks. If they found it on an u/s, then it was probably just barely starting. If you are using a doppler, then that is not your baby's heartbeat as no doppler will be able to pick up a fetal HB at 6 weeks.
2011: FSH 13.3 & E 99; AMH 0.54 2nd FSH 6.2 E 40's AFC: 8
BFP from Clomid/IUI ~ Pre-e and IUGR during pregnancy ~ DS born 9/4/12
Feb./March 2013: AMH less than 0.16 (undectable) and AFC = 4;
BFP from supps ~ DS#2 due May 2014
May 2014 January Siggy Challenge:
3 IUI's w/Clomid & Ovidrel=all BFNs
3 IVF (2 Fresh, 1 frozen) =BFN
Jan 2012 New RE & Fresh Cycle =BFP!
I'd be very careful about saying this. Yes, lots of undue stress can be detrimental for you and baby, but being worried about something pregnancy-related for 6 hours is NOT going to hurt your baby.
TTC #2
If this is what the tech told you and no one said any thin about it being to slow then i for sure think your in the clear! I remember the HB being super slow until about 8-9 weeks, and we did get a home doppler and after 12 weeks we have been able to hear the Hb and its always moving up and down. Some days its around 140 some 170. Just depends on how active baby is when you listen.
For now, your good! And in 2 weeks when you go back in you will see your bean, and the fastest heart beat you have ever seen in your life! It will be amazing! And this 2ww is going to be harder that the 2ww to test day! Feel better, dont stress, and step away from Google!
