An Eviction Notice Has Been Served!...

Today was my 39 week appointment. I was dialated almost to a 3, not much progress from last week when I was a 2.  I was hoping for lots of progress so that my OB would strip my membranes, but no such luck.

He said that he wouldn't allow me to go past 41 weeks and that at my next appointment if I hadn't made any more progress, then we would have to talk about and set an induction date. I told him that I don't mind going to 40 weeks, but I'd really prefer not to go any farther, so why not talk about an induction date now. :) He completely agreed and we decided that Thursday, March 1st will be the day we get down to brass knuckles. :)

I'm really excited/nervous about being induced. I went into labor naturally with our first and was hoping to do it again, but my body just isn't reacting the same way it did last time. I'm glad that she will finally be here, safe and sound, and that we will be able to schedule my husband's vacation around the baby's arrival, but I'm super nervous that my body won't react to the meds and I'll end up having a c-section.

I know no matter what that I have a wonderful support system in both of our families and I'm 100% confident that my OB will do what's in the best interest of our baby and myself.

Anyhoo, just an update from one excited Mamma! If Adyson Elizabeth isn't here by her due date (the 29th), then she'll definitely be in our arms on the 1st (also, her great grandma's birthday). :)

  • In a way i'm jealous that your OB scheduled your induction just a day after your due date..hehe (I have to wait till after 40 weeks to begin talking about it).

Also good for your for having a positive outlook on the whole situation, as most people are petrified of an induction. Looking forward to meeting your little Adyson!

  •    I was really worried that he would let me go as far as 42 weeks, as that we hadn't talked about how long he would let me go before. I'm really glad that he finally laid out a plan. :) Hopefully your LO decides to arrive at or before 40 weeks! Being uncomfortable for any longer than you have to be is just plain miserable.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm scared to death of being induced (I've heard it takes longer and is more painful), but I'm just really confident in my support system and OB. :)

Best of luck to you and your LO! :) Can't wait to see if you'll be Team Blue or Team Pink! What do you think - with Mother's Intuition and all?
