How much do you pay for broadband?

i want to shop around for broadband as part of our cutting the cable cord. who are using? how much do you pay? how's the speed/service?

we currently have u verse and are just kind of "eh" about it. the prices went up on internet to $39 after tax/fees for the 3.0 mbps pro speed. that is regular price and not the promo prices they offer on the site.

Um, holy crap. I just priced ours.

We currently pay $112/month for Verizon FiOS TV + DVR (includes lots of free OnDemand and all the HD channels we could want)+ Internet (25 mbps).

Taking away TV and DVR and knocking down internet to 3mbps would only bring it down to $65 + taxes/fees. That is a crock of crap. I think they're getting onto us with the streaming stuff. Ugh. Evil. It still might be worth cutting the cord, but not by much and certainly not by much when we add stuff like Hulu Plus.

it's hella expensive when you really look at the breakdown. we're currently paying $142 (!!!) for u verse 200 + internet 3 mpbs. tv is not worth $100 to me esp when i watch mostly network shows IF i even have time to watch them.

We pay $142 (with taxes and everything) for Digital Cable, a cable card for our TiVo and Roadrunner Service from Time Warner. Its fast enough for us. If I wasn't addicted to certain shows, we could cancel and just stream stuff all day long for like $60/month.
