Excited to finally be settled

H accepted a job transfer that will move us back to TN. We will be an hour from our hometown and most of our family but in the same city as my parents. We are excited about finally being near family again. We expected to be in PA 3-5 years and hoped that after that the next opportunity would be closer to home but did not expect it to be that close or so soon. 

It is a job H is happy doing and only one step away from his goal. We have decided that we are going to stay in TN for at least 5 years since the kids are starting school. We want to be settled for them. We are also secretly hoping that his boss retires in the next few years and he would be able to take that position and we can stay forever. We are going to buy a house and I am excited to have our own house and know we are going to be there a while at least. I am so tired of packing up and moving and starting over. I hate finding new doctors, making new friends, etc. It will be nice to finally feel settled somewhere. 

No real point to this other than just sharing my excitement.

    I share your excitement! ;). I know what it's like to be living as a short-termer - no fun! I will soon be joining you in the land of the settled, I hope. Congrats on your new life!

    Congratulations!  How wonderful to be going so close to your hometown and family!

    We talked about this before - I remember because my H was close to taking a transfer that would have moved us to TN!  I was freaking out but trying to be supportive of his career. It didn't work out for other reasons, and he ended up getting an even better promotion close to home. Kudos to you for being so supportive!
