does anybody use mommy cards?

i see ads, coupons, etc for "mommy cards"....does anybody use these?

some examples i found online are:

https://www.tinyprints.com/product/32943/contact_cards_fun_forward_slash.html

https://www.tinyprints.com/product/32928/contact_cards_zesty_floral.html

just wondering if this is really a "thing", or if it's just something these companies are trying to sell to us!

  • no.

  • I've thought about making something similar (not really mommy-oriented, but just, y'know, business cards for personal use), but, frankly, I'd make it myself and print it at home on Avery business cards from an office supply store... which would be a LOT cheaper.

  • I've never seen these.  I have seen calling cards (basically these, w/o the "mom of ___" parts), which i think are neat, in part b/c they are traditional and also b/c you could give them out w/o your kid's information.  You could do that, then just write the "mom of" part on them if you wanted someone to have that information.

this is a good idea, if i decide to do it! once i start actually having play dates and what not, i'll see if i feel like i need them.

  • Usually on play dates that I attend, mom's will just whip out their phones and add contacts and info. If somebody gave me a business card it would honestly just get tossed.
  • Calling cards were pretty normal in society at one time. I think mommy cards are a spinoff of that. There are certainly some women who exchange information a lot and these would come in handy. I'm not one of them though. I usually exchange emails or texts. And if I really needed some I'd either make them myself with my home printer or wait for free cards from vistaprint. If I was going to a blogging conference or something like that then sure, I'd so them.

that's what i thought--but my coupon ladies always blog about mommy-cards whenever vistaprint or whatever has a special so i didn't know if people actually use them. i've never seen it in real life, just with my coupon ladies!

  • I would laugh my head off if someone handed me one...I get the reasoning, but it seems weird to me.
