I'm thinking about getting a sling carrier of some sort for my three week old. I would like it to be one that is good for bigger babies as well so that we can use it this summer. Reviews on amazon seem to be all over the place, any advise, stories, input would be so appreciated

I like my woven wraps. It's like a moby but non-stretch, so it can be used well into toddler years and for back carries.
If you do decide to explore woven wraps there is a world of textures/thicknesses and a lot of it's personal preference, but climate can play a part in your decision too.
thebabywearer.com has lots of info, and the ladies on the attachment parenting board are also very knowledgeable.
The pic in my siggy is my one year old in a vatanai wrap.

I agree with this. I loved my Moby with my first baby until he was about 4-6 months and then it got saggy and it was summer and we got an Ergo. I STILL love the Ergo for him on my back. This new little one is growing fast and is already the size of a 4-6 month old and I find my Moby to be saggy already, which is sad because her legs aren't ready for the Ergo in the traditional sense and she doesn't like them froggied up anymore.
That being said I love my Maya Wrap ring sling for around the house. It's super comfortable for short periods (like 1-2 hours) but not for longer stretches. She's comfortable in it and I can put it on without putting her down (unlike the Moby). It's also made of a woven fabric so it doesn't stretch.
I have a baby K'tan that I love.
pros: compact, less fabric to worry about than a moby, fits in diaper bag, fast to get him in it, can take him out without waking him up. It seems like a Moby would get really dirty with all that fabric dragging around while you try to tie it. I think it goes up to 35 lbs.
cons: it is not one size fits all. You buy it to fit you so you can't share with your husband. Probably a few less positions than the Moby allows for.

We also have a baby Bjorn that we'll use for going outside in the summer.
NO WAY! I would have to say that if you buy one..keep your receipt. It is way too much fabric, way too complicated to put on..I gave up on mine.
I bought a simple sling from sevenslings.com and was actually making lunch and mopping the floor with it. If LO falls alseep I can easily take her out of it and it takes 3 minutes to put on, at the most.
