Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Anyone use Dr. Browns Nipples / Bottles

LO just turned 2 months old yesterday, but I am wondering if it is time to move up a level in Dr. Browns nipples. He is on newborn now, but it takes him close to half an hour to finish a 5 oz bottle. The next level says its for 3 months, so is it too early to move up now?

  • We moved up weeks ago to level one- it was taking forever to finish a bottle!

  • we moved to level one from preemie at about 4 weeks, then to level 2 at about 9 weeks. She is 3 months tomorrow and we are already about to move to level 3. I could tell it was time to move up when it started taking FOREVER, like you mentioned, for her to finish a bottle and she started getting frustrated and crying during feedings because it was so slow coming out!

  • If your breastfeeding, you may not want to.  If the flow from the bottle is faster than from you, they can prefer the bottle because it is less work.

If you are not bfing, it doesn't really matter.  As long as he takes it without out choking or increased spit up, it's nbd.
