Is your 3mo still sleeping most of the day?

Just wondering.  I was thinking we'd be close to the 2 long nap schedule by 3 months but my LO still sleeps most of the time.  She's really only up for a half hour to an hour at a time before she gets tired and cranky.  She does take 2 long naps (2+ hours) about noonish and 4 but the rest of the day is little half hour catnaps here and there.  She is sleeping well at night so I'm not complaining, just wondering.  Are your little ones up for long stretches during the day?

  • DD's not much of a napper. She usually takes a 2 hour nap in the morning and a 1 hour nap in the evening (which I'm working to eliminate because it's interfering with bedtime) but other than that I'm lucky to get 1-2 30-45min naps in. She is often up for 4-5 hour stretches. I read that at this age they are supposed to only be up for 1.5-2 hours so your LO sounds more "normal".

  • My LO is still sleeping most of the day.. He is up for about an hour or two at times after eating and he is STTN around 10 hours or so...
  • My girl takes 3 or 4 naps a day, usually two long ones (hour-two hours) and two shorter cat nap type naps. She slept a ton yesterday and then was up every hour or two last night, so I definitely will be making sure we don't repeat all-day sleeping!

  • Morgan still sleeps a lot too. Shes never up for more than 2 hours at a time!

  • She still sleeps most of the day.  She has a few hour long awake times during the day, but then will go back down for a few hours.

  • My LO doesn't sleep very much anymore. She takes maybe 2 naps a day for an hour or so, but that is it. She is awake A LOT.

She has been for the most part sleeping well at night though, so I'll take the trade.

Glad to hear this, I was beginning to think I was the only one!

  • Yep.  We're still sleeping a lot.  He'll take one longish nap a day and catnap the rest of the day.

  • Nope, she's been mostly awake for about 6 weeks now.  If we're out and she's in her carrier (or the car), she'll sleep.  But if we're at home, she'll take a couple of 30 minute naps.  Unless, of course, she's sleeping on her belly...then she'll sleep for hours!

  • My LO will take a couple cat naps during the day, usually lasting an hour to an hour and a half. Daycare keeps him busy.

LO still takes at least 6 naps a day, anywhere from 30 minute cat naps to 2 hours.

  • DS is never awake much more than 2ish hours at a time. He'll be awake for 1.5 hours in the morning, take a 1 hour nap, be awake for another 1.5-2 hours, take a 2 hour nap, then be awake for 2-2.5 hours, take a 1 hour nap, up for 2 hours, then bed.

  • Not even close.  Since about 8 weeks old R has been up most of the day.  We are lucky to get 2 30-45 minute naps out of him during the day, other than that he is up all the time.  He doesn't seem to need more sleep and is generally very alert he he's up.  IDK, every baby is different so I try not to compare DS to others.
