March 2012 Moms

Are you getting LO an Easter basket?

I've been thinking about this today while shopping and noticing all the cute Easter items out. At first I thought it was silly since she will be a few weeks old but then I starting thinking Easter will be her offical first holiday, why not!

Now I'm just brainstorming on what will I put in it? So far I have: A "My first Easter" sleeper, a book, and a bunny rattle.

What are you putting in your basket?

  • I am, if I don't I think DS will wonder why the Easter bunny forgot his little brother. LOL. I am thinking I will put in a book or two and a toy of some sort, maybe a few empty eggs to make it look cuter, I am sure DS will "help" the baby open it all. I already have a "my first Easter" bib from DS or I would probably include that too.

  • OMG...I hadn't even though of this. I just told DH we have to get the dragon an Easter Basket and he said "What?!" Haha...I'm doing it though. I like the idea of a book and a little toy. I've already gotten a hat that has ears and a bunny face and have seen an outfit I want at Target. How cute would a picture of him in the basket be :)

  • I wanted to buy a "My First Easter" bib and cute onsie but DH talked me out of it.  Then I saw a cute pink basket at Target and DH talked me out of it.  I am going to get it, I just need to find these items with DH isn't around me.

  • I'm not, but she will have her picture taken with the Bunny. :) (My work does Easter events every year and my friend is the Easter Bunny.)

  • We will because my son is 3.5 and will have one.
  • I wouldn't be surprised if the Easter Bunny drops off my LO (due at the very end of March)!

What?!! The Easter bunny isn't real!!   Lol!  I hadn't even though about LO being here for Easter this year and now I definitely want to get an Easter basket.  I can't buy a cute outfit yet since we are team green but I definitely will!

  • We won't be, but I'm liking the idea of putting her in a fancy dress and maybe taking a picture of her in a basket.  We don't live near her grandparents, and it would be a fun thing to send them, since we can't be there.

  • I'm loving the idea of her taking a picture with the Easter bunny, I didn't even think of that!  My newborn photographer just took one in a basket today : )

I am team green, and saw this post, and instantly remembered seeing something at Target!  They have the CUTEST yellow ducky and grey bunny onesies and hats and socks!  Even if you are burnt out on yellow, this is REALLY Easter-appropriate... So check that out!

Very excited, had thought of an outfit, and what we will do with family but a basket and even pictures with Bunny completely slipped my mind, thanks for posting!!!

  • Yes. But only because we will be getting one for our 2 year old. I will probably put some board books, rattles, Easter outfit, bibs, teething rings, etc.

  • Of course!  I bought him this Carter's Easter outfit and will probably throw in some books, a little stuffed animal, extra pacifiers.  My 2 year old has one of the nice Pottery Barn baskets with his name embroidered on the liner and I would like to get the same kind for the baby, but I'm afraid since I'm due Mar 26 and we don't have the name finalized that it may be too late to order it for this year.  The basket definitely makes for cute pictures.

  • I am planning on it.  I need to go soon and purchase the one I want from PBK before they sell out.  I worried if I wait to much longer I will go into labor and by the time I get there they won't have the one I want left.

So I plan on getting him one, just not sure what I will put in it.  Probably something like I did for DS#1.  For DS#1, I put a couple of books, a sophie the giraffe, a easter bib, and some other things he needed.  We'll see about this time since he doesn't need much.

  • I was not planning on it, but my mom was horrified when I told her that. She insisted the baby needs to have an Easter basket. So I have no idea whether she will wind up with one from Memere, but otherwise I just don't see the point in buying a 2-week-old baby a basket and/or another stuffed animal.
