I just checked in on the HTT thread and what did I see? We tackled the extremely contentious topic of abortion and what happened? People disagreed but the posts were about respecting the other side, calling the other side reasonable, etc...!
OK, so there was some slightly more typical disagreement on the ultrasound issue but even there people said things to the effect, "I'm going to stop here so this doesn't blow up into a bigger issue," or "I edited this so it's not as confrontational."
I swear, this is BY FAR the awesomeist bump board ever! You guys rock!
Re: proof the Dec 2010 board is P&R
haha, so true! I read that thread but didn't participate, but you're totally right.
I love this board.
I like puppies and rainbows. I mean, I like a good train wreck too, but only from a distance. I like my home board to be, well, homey.
::smooches all around::
BFP #2 5/27/12. EDD 2/1/13. m/c and D&C 6/21/12.
Ha ha, this!
I thought you meant "Post & Run"!!! LOL!!
well... gotta go...
Bazinga!
Me too! Lol
Yup! That's why I only read the 12-24 and barely ever post on it, they scare me. This is my happy place.
Yup that is me! I am P&R! That also means post and run! But definitely puppies and rainbows! I'll admit I like to sometimes watch the drama from a distance, like when someone posts a link to an especially juicy thread from another board. But I HATE when people do it regularly on a board I visit and when people are just personally attacking each other. It's so pointless. I do love the HTTs and prefer conflict over everyone agreeing, I just like it when the conflict is civil and respectful.
I think that the type of flaming that always got me most annoyed/upset was when people would jump all over a new person for saying something a little stupid (but not actually offensive). Especially when posters would flame the person after many other people already had. And especially if the post is something like, "your post is a waste of our time." (Then why did you have the time to respond to say that?) I always thought, "give her a break...!"
