I think LO has a cold...

LO has been coughing and sneezing...she sounds a little stuffy.  I think she's getting sick.  I'm nervous and not sure what to look for in terms of RSV and the things that could happen.  Any suggestions or ideas?

    My lo is congested right now too. She slept terribly last night because she wants her paci butcouldnt suck and breath at the same time. I have been squirting saline in her nose, but cant suck anything out yet. If it is Rsv, there is tons of snog, usuallly fever too. They also have trouble breathing and are wheezy. Call the pedi if you ever get concerned!

    We just got over our very first cold! Addy's problem stayed pretty much just in her sinuses, but fortunately she didn't completely close up like I thought she would. I pretty much just kept her little nose as clean as I could get it and let her sleep in the bouncy seat during the day so she was partially elevated. I did watch her temperature and listen to her breathing just to make sure nothing went sideways. As the nurse at our pedi's office said: if it doesn't feel right or makes you nervous, call!

    Mine too!  Blowing snot bubbles out of her nose and an awful cough.  I actually took her in last week for the cough, b/c she's had it for weeks.  My boys started their nebulizer tx at 6 months and 4 months old.  So I feel fairly confident in what I'm listening for in terms of her breathing/cough.  But I decided to take her in just to put my mind at ease.  It was just a cold.  For wheezing, you'll here it on the exhale.  Also look for struggling with breathing...you can see it in their necks and chests when they are struggling.  And they also will breathe very fast...my pedi once told me how many breaths per second were too many,(another sign of struggling) but I forget the number!  GL, trust your mommy gut and call your pedi if you have any ?s!
