I need a suggestion of someplace to go with a 4 yr old, 2 yr old and 2-1 yr olds on Thursday sort of near troy/Cohoes area. Children's Museum at Saratoga, is that too far? Schenectady Museum and Planetarium? Some place else? Thanks.
Saratoga would be much further north -- but I have heard amazing things about the children's museum.
There is also this bounce place in clifton park - https://www.bouncenparty.com/ I've never been there and I'm thinking it wouldn't work for the younger ones, especially if you are watching several at a time.
We have a Chuckie Cheese in Latham as well.
I have a feeling all these places might be really busy with winter break though. If you are open to other parts of albany (Rotterdam, East Greenbush, etc) there are other play places too.
There's the CMOST in Troy. Haven't been yet, but I've heard that it has some good exhibits.
This is a good option. I believe it's $5 for adults and kids over 2. There are some live animals (fish, snakes, birds, lizards), interactive techonology stations, art stations, etc. It's not big, but you could easily burn an hour or two there. They have special theme days and shows as well. Here is the website:
Honestly Saratoga would take you 20 minutes, maybe 1/2 an hour to get to. But as pp said, most of these well-known places are going to be packed this week! There are already some great suggestions here...there is also Tumbling Tykes on Rt 7 in Latham, the State Museum in Albany (free! and they have a carousel!), and Tree Paad in Malta.
Re: Alb- I need something to do north/west of Albany
North of Albany in Clifton Park, just off the Northway (87) is https://www.tinytotstearoom.com/ (which I like)
