What a difference a pillow makes...

I have been so uncomfortable sleeping and waking up with back pain. I have yet to get a body pillow because I just don't think we have room for it in our bed (Queen size). I know that sounds silly, but with me and DH and our 18lbs dog (you won't think he takes up that much room), we are already cramped. And plus I am not sure I would like hugging a pillow all.

My quick fix for now is putting a pillow between my legs. I have to say the last two days, it has really helped! Now I just have to deal with the pain coming in the afternoon from sitting at my desk at work. Ugh!

  • Get a body pillow... you will find room for it and it makes a huge difference rather than just using a regular one!

This. I got this body pillow and it is amazing. It took a few nights to get used to it but it is totally worth it!

  • For a few weeks I was doing like you are, putting an extra pillow between my legs. Then, as my belly kept growing I could feel it pulling down on my back. Which in turn was causing all of my back pain. So, for Valentine's Day my DH bought me the Boppy Body Pillow! Yes, it does take up a ton of room BUT I haven't slept better! You have head support and leg support. Plus, the pillow is thin enough that it tucks under your tummy and supports it so it isn't pulling on your back. I totally recommend getting the body pillow eventually!

  • I love my Snoogle.  I have always suffered from back pain while sleeping.  I have slept like a baby since the day I got my snoogle.  No back pain at all.  We have a queen size bed and it fits just fine.  I have my own little cubby of space.  Even better is now my dog has to sleep on DH's side because there is no room for him on mine.  I also got it a lot cheaper going through a company on ebay.  Big Smile

  • Well now you are all making me want a Snoogle! I think I might have to break down and get one, (and make my dog move somewhere else, like move towards the bottom of the bed). I am thinking I will get way bigger than I am now, and then what? Thanks for the suggestion!

  • DH and I have a queen, as well and he's a HUGE bed hog, but I have no idea how I would be getting any sleep at all if it wasn't for my Snoogle. It does make things a bit more crowded, but absolutely, 100% worth it.
  • pillows make a HUGE difference. I sleep with a total of 6 pillows all around me. 2 under my head, 2 under my feet and 2 body pillows on each side of me. This relieves my back pain and helps me sleep like a baby. We have a king sized bed and since pregnancy its hard to cuddle with DH, but he understands that I need to be comfortable. Our dog snuggles in our bed, but when lights are out, he's in his own bed.

I sleep in a Queen bed with DH, a 15 pound dog and a Snoogle.  The dog has shifted where she curls up, but it works out.   If you are having back pain, do it!!
