Infant car seat - What are you going with?

I've been looking into infant car seats to see which are the most recommended, safest, etc.

Has anyone already decided what infant car seat to go with? If so, would you mind sharing? I think I'm leaning toward the Chicco KeyFit 30 or the Safety 1st onBoard Air 35.

  • We went with a Graco Snugride from DD1 and will re-use it for #2. It was light and easy to use.

  • We decided to go with the Graco Snugride.  It's compatible with the stroller we purchased.

  • We were given a Chicco KeyFit 30 from friends, so I'll be using that in my car.

We will get the BabyTrend FlexLoc for H's car and another base for his mom's car (who will be doing DC 2 days a week)

ETA: I realized my first post didn't give any reason behind our choice and wasn't all that helpful, lol. Obviously we like the Chicco because it was, well, free. Our friends loved it with their twins. We picked out the BabyTrend because it complements the jogging stroller we bought (BT expedition). It was also a bonus because it was very inexpensive. We don't plan on using the car seats for hand carriers, and other than the jogging stroller, we won't be using a travel system or any other stroller for that matter. So the affordability was a big plus.

  • We are doing the Graco Snugride with the stroller.  I've heard such good things about utility, safety but especially lightweightness.  I have a bad back so that's number one on my list.

  • Peg Perego just like we did with DD. Extra side-impact protection - I like that.

  • Graco Snugride 30 for us.  We found last year's model for half price at Target a few weeks ago.  It works with our Uppababy Vista with an adaptor.

  • We're getting a Graco Snugride 30 or 35. We haven't picked out the specific one yet, but whatever we get will be gender neutral so that we can use it with future children as well.

Same. Bonus is that the fabric colors/patterns aren't heinous like all the other car seats I researched.

  • We have been using the Graco Snugride 22 with the last two kids. Unfortunately the handle gave out last night so we have to order a new car seat. We ended up ordering another Snugride since we have the bases and the stroller to go with it, but I had to look really hard to find one with the front adjustable strap.

  • We used the Snugride with our son and will use the same seat again this time.  We just got the regular one that holds up to 22 lbs and it worked fine for us.  I know a lot of people get larger ones so they last longer, but we ended up moving our son to a convertible well before he outgrew the infant seat because it was getting to heavy to use the carrier and he never liked the infant seat much.  Actually, my son is still less than 22  lbs at 22 months old so I'm glad we didn't bother with one of the huge infant seats.
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!

  • We are going with the Graco snug ride. I am not sure if it will be the 30 or 35 we are going this weekend to register. It got the best reviews and our strollers attachment is for that one as well!
  • Britax Chaperone is the seat we went with.
