  We just got our almost 4 year old (in March) a Raleigh with training wheels.

  He used a balance bike, but wanted to pedal so we went with a middle of the line bike that'll grow with him for a while. That meant 16inch wheels!! He's not that tall, but the 12" looked like he'd out grow it in a few months.

  We bought a 16" mongoose bike with training wheels.

  He had been riding the 12" for 2 summers, so we needed something bigger.

  ~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

  We got a 14" bike with trainers last fall, hopefully he can still use it in the spring.
