Would you send to school

Last night around 6pm my DD threw up.  Afterwards she seemed fine.  She went to bed fine and then at about 1am she woke up and threw up again.  This morning she is awake and acting fine.  I told her she wasn't going to school today (she only goes 2x a week) and she is really upset, insisting that she feels fine.

My husband says if she doesn't get sick again send her, I say that just because she is acting find now doesn't mean she is.  I hate for her to miss today because the postmaster is coming to her school today and they are sending letters home to learn the mail system, but I am not thinking sending a recently sick kid to school.

Re: Would you send to school

  • Like PPs said...I too would keep DD home. We also have the 24hr school rule. Even if we didn't though, I would keep her home.

  • She is staying home!  She actually started saying her belly hurt again and she is laying on the couch relaxing now.  Poor girl was so upset when I told her she wasn't going to school but I think she finally understands.

Thanks ladies, I was pretty sure I was going to keep her home but my DH kept acting like I should send her.

  • Nope - school policy is 24 hours illness free for something like throwing up.  The only time I made an exception to the rule was when it was from her dentist visit where they did a flourid treatment.
