LO blows out of his diaper every time...WTH?

My LO has recently started blowing out of his diaper every time he poops.  It goes up his back almost to his neck.  It's annoying when we're home, but awful when we're out in public, on a road trip, or camping, which is often.  I tried loosening and tightening them but it made no difference.  I thought of going up to size 3s (he is 9 weeks and weighs 15lbs) but he blows out of the 3s too.  Never in the leg, just up his back.  We're going through several outfits a day.  He is EBF, and lately his poops do seem more voluminous and less often, and often thin and "runny."  This never happened with my FF baby.  Any ideas?

    Try a different diaper brand. I know DD2 had this issue with Pampers, but Huggies seemed to be tighter in the back and kept the poop in when she was BFing.

    Size 3 is most likely too big.  I would try a different brand and make sure you are putting them high enough in the back.  My LO sometimes blows through if he is sitting in the carseat because the poop can't really go anywhere but up.

    I was just about to post this. I have tried Pampers newborn and size 1 (which is big on him) and Babies R Us Brand newborn size (which suck) and he blows out of just about everyone (poop and pee)- sometimes out the legs or sometimes the top. I am going through like 6+ outfits a day. Grr. Reminds me, I need to go start a load of laundry or we will be out of clothes that fit him in two more diaper changes...

    Mine does the same thing! Its pretty forcefull poops! LUVS have worked the best for me. I really do not like pampers and huggies are ok but Luvs have worked the best for us to keep the poo in! =)

    For pee leaks - are you fanning out the leg holes? And make sure you point the penis down.

    It has a lot to do with what position they are in when they poop, which u can't help. If they are sitting it will go up there back for sure no matter what diaper. Best bring spare outfits haha

    Pampers also has in-between sizes that you could try. They make a 2-3 which worked well for my DS when the 2's were too small and the 3's were still too big. I have only found them at BJ's or on Amazon.

    I prefer Huggies too.  But I think the blowouts just happen sometimes.  When I hear the first poop, I just take Margo to the diaper table, get her naked from the waist down, and put her on a few paper towels.  It's saved me from doing many loads of laundry, and she loves being on the table.
