Except coworkers? We told family and close friends. Which is pretty much everyone we know. We want the support from everyone esp if something were to go wrong. Just curious if anyone has done the same. We did the same with dd1.

I haven't bothered to tell my dumb butt brother yet, because when I told him our second was a boy, after having a girl first, his reply was 'great, one girl and one boy, you can be done? right?'
Everyone important knows, but its not yet revealed on facebook.

We are planning on telling our family and close friends after our first appointment. It's on March 2. We also need the support of family and friends no matter what happens.
No, coworkers only due to the severity of my morning sickness. We've told immediate family only so far. Unfortunately my dad took it upon himself to tell a few of his brothers :-/
we've told our families (meaning our parents and my sisters) and I told my best friend. No one else will find out until I'm ready for the whole world to be all up in my business.
I am part of a private board of bump friends I met with my first pregnancy, and they are the only ones who know at this point. We are going to keep this one hush hush as long as possible, but if I start popping I know it will come out sooner.
I would love to tell my co-irkers so they all know essentially to back the heck off for the next 9 month, because this mama gets snarky and doesn't put up with any workplace crap when I am pregnant.

Yeah I think we covered pretty much everyone, although my husband and I both have really small families and don't know a lot of people just our good friends.
I'm actually in a weird situation when it comes to that. I'm of the firm belief that m/c and pregnancy loss are NOT something that needs to be hidden anymore. it's disgusting that women are expected to go through it alone because heaven forbid it make someone else uncomfortable. My husband, on the other hand, is of the firm belief that untelling people sucks donkey balls and he doesn't want to have to do it again. So we compromised. I post about it on my blog (that is public, but not many people read) but we won't announce on facebook. we haven't made any big announcements except to his family on superbowl sunday, but we've told family and close friends. He doesn't mind if i tell my friends that aren't close with him, but he's choosing not to tell his friends/coworkers. So, kind of? LOL The important people know, and it's not a HUGE secret, but we're not tattooing it across our foreheads either.
Did that huge rambling mess make any sense?
After 7 years of no ovulation... BFP#1 10/24/11 ~ EDD 6/29/12 ~ Natural m/c 11/2/11 BFP#2 2/3/12 ~ Alice born 9/26/12
I made it public on facebook tonight because my mister's dad found out, so now the whole world is going to know in the next 24 hours, and I would rather my close friends find out directly from me, than because one of his nosey and gossipy aunts posts on my facebook about it.
We are planning on telling our family and close friends after our first appointment. It's on March 2. We also need the support of family and friends no matter what happens.
My first appointment is March 2nd too! I will be 9 weeks! It's been a long wait since we got our BFP!
We have told our parents, my brother and his sister. I have also told about 5 of my closest friends and my boss. I was so tired the other day at work, that I just blurted it out to her. Felt good though!
And all of you great ladies
I am still trying to decide if I am going to tell more after the u/s or wait until 2nd trimester.

We have been pretty open. We've announced it to family, friends and close co-workers. Neither DH or I have fully announced at work or to our acquaintances; we are waiting for a heart beat. We also feel as though we need the support. So many people had been there for our IF journey that I know they will support us through this journey.
TTC since Jan. 2010 DX Unexplained infertility
3 IUI's w/Clomid & Ovidrel=all BFNs 3 IVF (2 Fresh, 1 frozen) =BFN Jan 2012 New RE & Fresh Cycle =BFP!
I just had a chemical pg at the beginning of Jan. at 5 weeks. My OB said to keep trying and we got pg with this one right away. I'm now 5w3d (yay!). But I didn't like untelling people. My pg with DD was so perfect that with the miscarriage, we had already told family and close friends. It kind of sucks to untell. So basically, my mom knows and that's it until the end of 1st tri probably.
We told everyone. We are not very good at keeping a secret.
MFI, Lap on 7/21/11 - Stage III/IV Endo and Polyps removed by D&C IVF #1 with ICSI - ER 1/20 (16R, 12M, 10F), ET 1/23 (1-10 cell and 1-8cell transferred), BFP on 1/31 Beta #1 on 2/3 = 68, Beta #2 on 2/6 = 261 EDD 10/12/12

Yeah we suck at keeping secrets too! It's not official on fb either st least not mine! My brother decided to post about being an uncle again so some family that's not so close found out but eh I hardly talk to them anyways! Good to hear I'm not alone! Oh and sorry to P&R last night I passed the eff out!

We've told immediate family and a handful of close friends, but want to wait as long as we can for the rest (FB, coworkers, etc.). Stepmom-in-law loves to gossip and I know it's killing her not being able to tell her ENORMOUS family and everyone else she runs into. Secretly enjoying her squirming.
Our parents & siblings know. DH also told some of his friends. I'm trying to hold out until after our appt next Thurs. My mom is dying to spread the news!
We are telling my parents today after the appointment. We only told 3 people so far.
We are waiting until the 2nd trimester to tell everyone else (DH's family, my sisters and our close friends).
I won't tell work and facebook until probably May or so... unless I am showing.
I think it's kind of cool to have this secret with DH... and I don't have to worry about everybody and their brother telling me "how to be pregnant" or what to eat.
We both told our parents, and my grandmother. My dad was too excited and told all his brothers, and his sister. Most of them live far out of state so I"m really not worried about someone we didn't tell finding out.
My husband is a twin and we have some mutual friends. Although we trust his twin, we don't trust his fiance not to tell everyone. So we have not told anyone else in his family.
My best friend is getting married in the middle of March, and I would really rather wait until after her wedding. I don't think she would make a big deal out of it, or be upset, but it's so close why not just wait anyway? I don't want anyone at her wedding saying anything about me being pregnant and taking any attention away from her. You only get one day, and I want her to enjoy hers.
We've told family already. Will tell my closest girlfriends when I see them again in another week or so. Have told my boss as well, because we are in the process of hiring another manager at the restaurant I work at and before she made a decision she needed to be aware that she would need that person to work while I was on maternity leave (originally it was going to be a seasonal position for the summer).
We told DH's parents and some very close friends so far. I am waiting to be able to get together with my family to tell them, then we will come out to all. I'm starting to show a little and M/S has been kind of bad so I feel like people who see me know anyway
First time we told family and close friends right away. It was hard untelling people but hardest to untell to my parents. My dad took it really hard. But we got a lot of amazing support from everyone so I don't regret it.
Second time we were going to wait to tell until after the 1st appt. Unfortunately there wasn't a heartbeat so we just told my parents that I had miscarried again. A few friends knew also.
This time, a few friends know. Same deal, want to wait to tell parents until after first appt. Want to wait to tell everyone else until after 1st tri.

We just lost a baby at the end of November and our family and close friends knew. This time just my parents and my sister know, we dont want to instill the worry on everyone if its not necessary, and quite honestly some people really disappointed us in the support department....that added stress wasnt nice. We had said we would tell when we hit 9 weeks since we only made it to 8 weeks and 6 days last time but then we think, thats so close to double digits and thats so close to the ultrasound at 12weeks, so as its stands we want to reveal when we have seen the baby and heard the heartbeat and have the ultrasound photo in our hands
Just adding that we are actually enjoying having this little secret between us(our other children know) we thought it would be tough at first, but its been fine.
14yr old DD, 9yr old DS. BFP Oct 30, missed M/C at 9weeks November 27/11
We are telling our entire extended family and inlaws this weekend! After that we will have a few more friends to tell in person(probably the following weekend at church) and then we will put it on Facebook the day we have our first u/s at 7 weeks! So in about 2 weeks everyone will know

Our problem is that some of our closest friends knew we were going to start trying right after we got married, so I've had some people ask. I won't say no if someone asks, so that has gotten me into trouble a couple of times!
We have told our parents, siblings, and a handful of close friends. The friends we have told have been told for very specific reasons - one friend was told because we had been going to his house for game night every week, but his new girlfriend moved in with him and brought her cat, which means I would have had to take allergy pills every week, which I didn't want to do in the first tri. So we moved our game night to our house since nobody is allergic to dogs, but we had to tell him why we needed to move it.) I had to tell my boss because I work for a mayor and it's election year, so I wanted to give him lots of time to prepare - also I tend to do a lot of running around and lifting things when setting up for events, so I wanted him to know in case I had to get help with something. And I had to tell a couple of people at the community theatre I volunteer for because they thought something happened to upset me when I didn't try out for the musical that's coming up. I was super-excited about it, but decided not to try out since costuming would be difficult with an ever-expending belly and I've been so tired that the idea of rehearsals just exhausts me!
We're going "facebook official" after the first ultrasound on March 16. DH and I are thinking of creative and fun ways to do it right now.
