If your LO does NOT STTN...

How many times are you waking up to feed at night and where does LO sleep? My LO is still waking once or twice a night and sleeps in the PNP by our bed, but when we move dh wants me to put her in her own room. He doesn't REALLY care but just doesn't get it's so much easier for me when she is right by the bed! Anyway when will you transition to their own room?

Re: If your LO does NOT STTN...

  • She still wakes up 2-3 times a night. She sleeps in the pnp right by our bed. literally a foot away (enough room for me to stand in between her bed and mine)

We originally planned on keeping her in there til 6 mo. (that's what the AAP recommended while we were pg, but now they recommend 1 year.) I don't know if we will go a year (I hope not), but once you actually have the baby, things change so I highly doubt we will just stick her in her crib the day she turns 6 mo kwim?

also, I just keep hoping she's sttn by then, and it won't be as much as a pita (for me) to have her across the hall instead of a roll over and grab her.

  • She still wakes 2 times usually, sometimes 3. She sleeps in her own room in her crib. I just pray that she will start to STTN zoom.

  • Ahhh I know she will eventually be in her own room but I like that I can just peek in the PNP to check on her I don't even have to get up! I will have to get a video monitor when she transitions. She is a belly sleeper and I am paranoid.

This too. I like being able to shine a light on her real quick to make sure I see her breathing! But I know after a few sleepless nights, I would be okay with her in the other room.

  • He WAS sleeping through the night. Not anymore, I think we need to feed him more during the day. We moved him to his own room at like 3 weeks. Mostly because I put  clean launddry in the playpen and had no choice.

  • LO doesn't sttn consistently, though it has gotten much better since we started sleep training last week.

We kept her in our room until she was about 3.5 mos. I had wanted to keep her in there longer, but I wasn't sleeping well because she is so noisy and I wanted some intimacy w/ DH.

LO was doing 1/3 of the night in her swing, 1/3 in her bassinet and 1/3 in our bed w/ us. I started by moving her swing to her nursery, and she continued to do 1/3, 1/3 and 1/3 until I gave away our bassinet and used the crib instead. Now she is 100% in the crib in just a month and a half later.

I know if our house was bigger and if her nursery was farther away than next door to our room it would have been harder to transition.

  • OK, I must have the hardest kid of them all....LO wakes up 4-5 times a night, sometimes more if I try and get her to sleep in her bassinet. She hates to sleep anywhere but next to me...so most nights she sleeps next to me in bed. I dont mind, I EBF and feel like she eats all night.

I more than likely wont move her to her room till 6months. This is our last baby so I might as well milk it longer ;p

  • I loved DD at 3.5 months to her crib and her room is on the opposite side of the house. The first night we moved her was the first night she slept thru the night. ;-)

Aside from a hiccup with the 4MW, she's been sstn with one feeding at 3/4am ever since she's been in her crib.

  • She wakes 2 times at night.  Bedtime is 7:00-7:30 and she is up between 5:30 & 6.

Most nights she wakes around 11:30 and then again at 2 or 3.  We had a few nights of 12 and 4 which I liked a little better.  I can count on one hand the number of nights she has slept straight until 1 or 2am and I feel like we aren't making any progress toward dropping the 11pm feeding.  She eats but I think she could skip  it.  We aren't quite ready to do CIO for it though  especially since she is now getting stuck in the corners of her crib.

ETA: she is in her crib in her room.

  • We just moved him to the crib this weekend. Before that he was also in the RnP in our room and would get up once to eat. We started Fri night in the crib and he's been waking up every couple hours. We are hoping he figures it out after a few more days.

  • He still wakes up 2-3x a night too. He sleeps in bed with me and we "side-carred" his crib to ours. We definitely weren't planning on this arrangement but after the 4mw it just kind of happened. I don't think we'll be transitioning him to his own room til he's around a year.

  • My little guy still wakes three times a night (10ish, 2ish, 5ish) to feed.  We transitioned to DD room around Christmas because the bassinet was too small:(  DH gets him out of his crib for me, I feed him in bed then I put him back in his crib when he's done.  That seems to work for us.  For the record, my other two children never roomed with us.  They went straight to the crib from the hospital.  We didn't have that luxury this time around because we ran out of bedrooms.  FWIW, I much prefer them sleeping in their own rooms because I do sleep better.

  • E sleeps in her crib in her room. She goes to bed at 7:30. usually wakes up at 8:30, then again at 10:30, 1:30, 4:30 and is up for the day at 6:30. Some nights she wakes up every hour. Her 6 mo. checkup is on Tuesday and we're going to be talking to the pedi about it. I think she's waking up WAY too much.

  • On days that I work, he's usually only up once, since we have to get up so early...he's usually up twice on the weekends. He's sleeping in his own room, but we don't live in a very big apartment, so it's not a far walk to feed him. However, we're moving in a month and our bedroom will be downstairs while his is upstairs...I have a feeling that will suck and am hoping he's STTN by then. Haha

  • Late to this post but...

My LO wakes up once during the night to eat.  Ocassionally it will be twice (usually if he eats around midnight he wakes up to eat again around 4).  He does wake up sometimes if he gets chilly and I put a blanket over him, and when he falls asleep I take the blanket away.

We moved him to his crib in his own room when he was about 2 or 2.5 months.  He would wake up and entertain himself for a few minutes before fussing, and the same when we laid him down, he'd entertain himself, snuggle with his monkey, till he fell asleep.  That's when we decided it was time.

  • DD sleeps in a pack n play in the living room right now.  She wakes up 2-3x a night and usually wants to eat.  We're planning on transitioning to the crib around 6-7 months.  Occasionally she'll have a good night and only wake up once, but last night she woke up 5x.  She puts herself to sleep really well initially, but when she wakes up in the night she can't seem to self-soothe.

  • He wakes up 1-3 times a night. We'll move him when he drops his night feedings.
