Pregnant after IF

Can I just say I'm scared?

I have my u/s on Thursday and I'm petrified that this whole thing will fall through.   I'm not having spotting or anything, but I fear that there will be no baby or that it stopped growing or that it's in the wrong place.   I have been up the last few nights with worries.   Please tell me that I will feel better after the u/s.

  • The fear is normal.  I wish I could tell you it will all go away once you hear the heartbeat, but I can't promise you that.  I'm pretty sure I'll be scared until the day I have my LO in my arms, and then I'll have a whole new set of things to worry about.  Just remember that there is nothing you can do to change anything right now, and all the worry in the world won't help.  A wise lady on this board taught me this mantra when I was freaking out around the same time as you.  Today you are pregnant, and you love your baby.  GL at your u/s and let us know!

  • Totally normal. I asked the drs when will I stop worrying - he said when you die. There will always be the next step to worry about and then even after they are born, you will worry - there is always time to worry. Try to live the moment and be thrilled that you are pregnant and enjoy this - you deserve this! Worrying will only steal your precious memories of a wonderful time called pregnancy. I have to repeat this to myself often.

Prayers everything goes smoothly for you.

  • I felt the same way before my first u/s.  It is completely normal and you will feel much better afterwards.  I can't say I don't still worry, but I am having so much morning sickness and I'm so exhausted right now, I don't really have the energy to worry.

I hope that you get great news at your u/s!!

  • I went into all of my early u/s already in tears before I even got in the room because I was so freaked out and convinced I was going to get bad news.  ((Hugs)) and good luck!

  • I have the same fears...well just that there will be no heartbeat.  Especially bc it has happened to me before.

Just try and remember that most pregnancies actually do NOT end in a loss.  The odds are actually in ur favor for this.  GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Totally normal to feel scared.  I felt scared at every ultrasound and kept waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under me.  I think i will still feel worried until I reach week 38.  You will fee better after the ultrasound and even more so after you hear a heartbeat.  Just try to remain calm and don't stress out. Good luck!
