So mad at vitamin supplements

So I just found out that store bought vitamins are only absorbed less than 12% in the body. That's ridiculous! My mom has osteoporosis and I have been trying to get a jump start on my vitamin D for years to not end up like her. Now come to find out pill vitamins don't do the job? I'm livid!

Re: So mad at vitamin supplements

  • DH had to take glucosamine for his knees and our doctors told us the same thing about pills. Glucoasamine in pill form didn't work as fast or as good. He takes a liquid form because it is more efficiently absorded into the body. I know there are some companies that sell a liquid vitamin D so maybe you could try that.

  • yeah they aren't great I hate it when people use "gummy" vitamins you get even less from them they're pointless.
  • I do everything in my power to get the nutrients I need from what I eat. Synthetic vitamins just don't stack up to the natural ones.

  • don't take vitamin supplements, take JuicePlus+.  It is fruits & vegetables in capsule form. Gluten free, organic and it's FOOD *not* a supplement, which is huge.  Since I have been taking it, almost four months now, the difference I have seen in my health are tremendous and the differences my oncologist has seen in my bloodwork is crazy.  If you want more information, inbox me.  There's also a berry blend which provides all of the antioxidants we need to reverse the signs of aging and undo the damage we've done to ourselves with stress.  I take all three blends and drink the protein powder which contains the fruits, veggies, berries *and* sea minerals.  again, if you want more info, inbox me.

  • shoot...I forgot to say that by it being FOOD and not a supplement, it is completely absorbed by your body.  all my doctors and I think this is one of the reasons I got pregnant after chemo so easily.  good luck!

  • Have you had your Vit D levels checked? If you're normal, no need to supplement at all! Getting some sun is the best way, but if you still want to supplement why not try a liquid like a pp mentioned. I take Carlson's Vit D drops but there are lots of good ones out there.
