Hi there Fellow Bumpies,
I was wondering if there is anyone else who has had to, or is having to, take such high doses of injectables because their ovaries were not responding.
My first 8 days of meds yeilded no response (E2 = <20). Then for the next 3 nights, meds were increased from 425/225 to 600 gon-f + 225 meno. Results of E2 was 170, but 4 follies were seen during the sonogram.
I'm happy, but still hesitant to fully get my hopes too high up. Next test/sono is on Wednesday (2/22/12).
With your experience (even more helpful if age is 40+), did you ever have to (or are you taking) so much stimulation meds, and what were/are your results, please?
I've had other cycles where meds were not quite so high (300/75 - 400/75) and responded normally.
Re: I'm 43 - did you use 600iu of gonal-f/225iu Menopur and get BFP?
I am younger (28 at the time of my last IVF) but I was on very high doses as well of medications. My first IVF I didn't respond to the meds and had to convert to an IUI. The second time around we started at higher doses of 450 follistim and 150 menopur, after 2 nights I was not responding the way they would like and they increased my follistim to 600 and eventually 675 of follistim. I was on very high doses but I was monitored closely and that is what I needed to respond. We were not successful on the fresh IVF but the FET from that cycle resulted in the little girl that I am 23 weeks pregnant with. I wish you the best of luck!
Okay, thanks so much for your reply. I'm aged, but hopeful. Trying not to think beyond each step and be prepared for the news I want and don't want.
Thank you. Congrats to having your twins!
