Hello! We are just starting the process of looking for crib, carseat, etc.
What crib did you choose?
Can you recommend websites that have reviews on all things baby? I've signed up with Consumer Reports, but there aren't very many selections.
Thanks!
Re: Cribs/Baby "stuff" reviews
My DS has a Sorelle Crib and my DD has a Europa Baby Palisades. Both fantastic well made cribs. We got them both at BRU.
Buy the Baby Bargains book. It has reviews/ratings on everything you will ever need for baby.
Lucies list & talking to people who already have little ones.
It changed a lot of things we ended up getting.
As far as the crib...I ended up getting a 3 piece set from Walmart, because most other sets were going to be too large for the room we needed to use. It actually has worked out very well & is very pretty/sturdy.

Def get a copy of this. I got mine off Amazon for less than $10. It has been very helpful. I take it with me when we go shopping for stuff. I was also surprised at some of the name-brand ratings for things. I'm glad I read it.
Crib: We got the Graco Lauren
Car Seat: Chicco Keyfit 30
We got the Snap n Go to go with the infant car seat.
Both have great ratings.
Crib: Graco Freeport Classic - Looks great and was easy to put together, it was also really well priced.
Car Seat- Graco Snugride - the regular version, we will upgrade to a convertible when LO grows out of it. I don't want to be carrying her around in it if she is more than about 20 lbs anyway. It also has great reviews.
Stroller- Uppababy Vista 2011 in green- Haven't actually used it yet but I LOVE it. Has a bassinet, reversible seat that fully reclines, and a huge basket. We bought the graco attachment for it as well so we can use the car seat with it if need-be.

This website was helpful to me: https://www.lucieslist.com/
Our crib is the Ikea Gulliver. Our stroller is the City Mini. Our car seat is the Baby Trend infant seat (just because it was given to us for free by my SIL, we didn't necessarily "pick" it).
Baby Bargains was a lifesaver, but make sure you get the most recent edition.
Crib: Graco Lauren
Carseat: I love the look of the Chico carseats, but found an amazing deal on a Graco Snugride so we got that instead.
Baby Bargains is great, as is CR.
Our crib is the Carter's Sleep Haven 3-in-1, which I believe is discontinued. I don't recommend getting a crib that converts to a "forever" bed. You don't know if you're kiddo is going to be a woodchuck!
Carseat: Chicco Keyfit 30 & Britax Boulevard
Strollers: Jeep Liberty & Maclaren Volo. I wish we had gotten a Snap & Go for the carrier stage.
Crib: Davinci Jenny Lind crib
Car Seat: Chicco KeyFit 30
Stroller: City Mini
We've managed to survive without Baby Bargains. I just read a ton online & have lurked on this board a while.
Crib: Renew Crib in Coffee from JCP. I love this crib, it's very sturdy, great style and great dark wood!
Car Seat: I bought the Graco Quattro Boone Travel System which came with the Graco Snugride carseat, I have no complaints so far.
I never thought about baby being a woodchuck (love that name!)...that is a great point. I was stuck on getting a crib that we could convert, but never thought about what we would do if he/she chews it up before then.
Thank you everyone! I downloaded BB and I've written down all of your suggestions....:)
