OBGYN Recommendations

Anyone have a good suggestion for an OBGYN (delivers at St. Luke's would be a bonus) who is natural-friendly, or at least not so bent on passing out c-sectiond like candy??

Re: OBGYN Recommendations

  • Here's a post from early this summer on this topic: https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/54896237.aspx

My doctor was very open to natural childbirth (I caved at 6cm and got the epi though) as well, her name is Dr. Misty Day and her office is near 270/Machester in Des Peres. I delivered at Mercy and I'm not sure if she delivers elsewhere or not.

  • I go to Dr. Durer at St. luke's. Im not far along yet, but he is amazing! He told me he likes to do what the mom wants when it comes to delivery unless something happens and plans need to change. He is great!
  • i really like my OB, Dr. Laura Hulbert (in south county).

i'm not sure if she delivers at st. Luke's, but i know she does at st. Anthony's and st. Clare.

she told me she prefers to do vaginal births, and only does c-sections if the baby is breech, or labor is progressing poorly (stuck for several hours with no change in dilation).

she is also very nice and friendly (and has hardly said a word about my 25lb  weight gain!)

  • I also have Dr. Misty Day. I like her and she delivers at St. Lukes or St. Johns. We are going with St. Lukes :)

  • Mine is Dr. Caroline Morgan. She delivers at St. Lukes and St. Johns and another hospital, can't remember. Her offices are at Winghaven and St. Lukes. I also didn't want a c-section unless absolutely necessary, and she was behind my decisions all the way and not pushy about drugs, although I did end up needing to be induced because of other reaons. She is wonderful and I highly recommend her.

  • I go to Dr. Mary Grimm who is out of St. Luke's. She is pretty big on natural delivery. She also delivers at St. John's Mercy.

  • I see Dr. Karen Voegtle at St. Luke's and she is amazing!  Totally on board with whatever my DH and I want to do.  She delivers at St. Lukes, Mo Bap and St. John's.

  • I got to Dr Mormol at Professionals in OB/GYN.  I believe he goes to ST. Luke, Progress West, St. John, Mobap, St. Clair. Almost everywhere.

He is very supportive of the Bradley Method, one of the best in the area per a few people I know who wanted to go to him but couldn't due to insurance.  I plan on having an epidural, but I am a nurse anesthetist so I see a lot and have many reason for getting it. But I highly recommend him and his office.  His nurse practioner's are great, he has two office locations, evening and saturday hours.  It has been very easy to make appointments without having to leave work.  He has also been great since I have had some issues with our baby.

  • Dr. Carlos Maitz in Creve Coeur- he is amazing! and delivers at St. Luke's (as well as Mercy, Mo Bap, Depaul, St. Clare) his staff is awesome and they are very supportive of what mom wants
