Ergo hurts my arms

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I don't really see how you can wear an Ergo wrong.  The plastic adjusters on the straps really bother the insides of my arms.  Does that make sense?

Maybe it's the way I'm built or something, but they sit right under the inside of my upper arm, and after wearing it for a short period of time, really become uncomfortable.  Anyone else have this happen?  Anything I can do?

  • Can you pull the straps tighter at all? I had some problems with it at first before realizing that I was wearing it a bit too loose. It should be really very snug. Good luck! :)

  • I feel like I have the straps about as tight as they can go.  I think it's just bad luck that the plastic pieces hit right under my arm when they're at the right tightness.  If I loosen them, they don't bother me, but then it's not as tight as it should be.  DH doesn't have this problem, but obviously they're adjusted differently for him.

  • Boo :( That sucks! I'm sorry it isn't working out for you. Maybe it will be different when the baby is a little bigger? I can't think off the top of my head if that would affect where the straps hit. That is just no good at all.

  • Does moving the chest strap up or down help at all?  It may cause it to fit enough differently so it doesn't rub.

  • The problem with soft structured carriers is that they just don't fit everyone really well - as always, "one size fits all" is kind of not true. It could just be an issue with your shape vs. the carrier shape.

I was thinking this, maybe adjusting where the chest/top back strap is would help some. Good Luck!

  • Thanks ladies.  I'll try adjusting the chest strap and see if that helps.  Or maybe when she gets a little bigger it will fit better.  This just sucks, I like it so much, and that's not something I really could have known beforehand.
