  • If it's just your 1 hr you don't have to fast just for the 3 hour And try not to let the swelling scare you too much cause I swelled a lot my last pregnancy and all was well... Good luck :)

  • Are you staying hydrated? Make sure you are drinking lots of water (at least 8-10 glasses a day) and speak to your doctor about the swelling. I would try to avoid salty or higher sodium filled foods, too, until you determine why you have the swelling. Good luck!!

First, try not to worry too much about the swelling. Of course, listening to your doctor would be important :) BUT, I can tell you that in my reading, I found there are two types of swelling- one is from too much salt and the other is from not enough salt. Funny huh?

You might want to review what you have been eating and see if you need to add or take away anything. Usually diet has a lot to do with toxemia- according to Dr. Brewer- I should say.

I hope diet really didn't bring on my severe pre-e in my last pregnancy because I was eating very healthy.

From info from my OB pre-e strikes who it wants to.  I think there are ways to try to prevent it like diet but if it's going to happen it's going to happen.  Perhaps diet can help the severity of it?  I am not sure.

I do agree with watching your salt intake and drinking more water to help with swelling.
