We just booked a Disney Cruise for this summer. I'm so excited!! We found a great deal and are taking advantage of it. It will be our 1st official family vacation since we had DD. We've gone to my parents where they live at the beach, but I don't really count that as a vacation. My parents are going with us on the cruise and they offered to have DD sleep in their cabin some nights so that DH and I can stay out late and enjoy the ship. My mom teased and said they'd keep her the whole trip if we might have a "surprise" for them a few months later. DD was a result of our last cruise.
Re: Booked Vacation!!
hysterical!
I am glad you finally booked something! Do you mind sharing the deal? Is it out of Baltimore by any chance?
LOL at the "surprise" - might happen if you weren't one-and-done
It's out of Port Canaveral on their newest ship that has it's maiden voyage in March. They have rooms right now that are "restricted rooms", where you don't get to choose your room on the ship, just type (inside, outside, or balcony). You get a free upgrade if they are out of the category you chose. It's non-refundable and you have to pay in full, but it's about $2000 cheaper than the normal prices for the 3 of us. We went through an agent and also got $125 on board credit to use too through them. Plus if you use the Disney VISA you can get another $50 on board credit as well through the travel agency. We're not picky about our room since you aren't in the room a whole lot anyways. We're driving down to NC to pick up my parents, then continuing driving from there, so that helps with the cost.
Mom knows were one and done, but she's always hoping we change our minds.
We are going on the Dream for the second time in June. You are going to have such a great time!
I learned last year that you can bring a pillowcase or photo mat and sharpies to Guest Services the first day, and they will have all the characters sign it and deliver it to your cabin before the end of the cruise.
I read about this yesterday and plan on getting a photo mat to take and drop off with them.
