Sling input

I'm wanting to get a ring sling. I have credit to our local natural parenting store, so I would prefer to get one of the brands they carry...Maya wrap, Sakura, Sleeping Baby Productions. Any input? I know there are a lot of subcategories within the brands, but I need a jumping off point. They have a rental program and I'll probably rent two of the three to compare.

They're all really good brands, you can't make a bad choice.

I find that the SBP shoulder is pretty universally loved and depending on the fabric selection it's also probably the cheapest brand of the three. Maya Wraps are good, probably the 2nd cheapest of the lot, but I'm not a fan of their fabrics at all. Sakura Blooms are best known for their silk stripes. Their gathered shoulder isn't as effortless as SBP for me, but their fabric is definitely the highest quality of the listed brands.

I assume you're worried about staying cool in the summer? A single layer of linen's probably your best bet. SBP and Sakura Bloom both offer them, I think Maya Wraps are 100% cotton only.
