OK so I'm going to preface this by saying I know how absolutely ridiculous this sounds. I have always been a skeptic when it comes to these things, but since DS has been born some strange things have been happening and of course as a mommy if there's something amiss I want to do whatever I can to make sure LO is OK and safe.
So we moved into our townhouse last January. Never had any issues around the house, never noticed anything unusual. Any "hairs standing up on the back of your neck" moments could have one explanation or another. Fast forward to when LO came home and weird things started to happen around the house. Within a couple days after LO and I came home, DH and I were upstairs changing LO's diaper and all of a sudden the light in LO's room came on by itself. You have to pull the chain for that light to go on. We have had no electrical issues in the house and it freaked both of us out. About a week later we received balloons from a friend and tied them to the banister. When LO would be downstairs with us, we would notice them moving on their own. There were no open windows and the heat was not on--- and they were MOVING like someone was playing with them. LO also has a toy that goes off only when you move it. Well... hours after LO was done playing with it it started going off by itself. DH was home when this happened and it creeped him out... then it happened again when I was here. Last night at around 11 LO (who mostly STTN now and doesn't wake up for much) was in his crib and all of a sudden DH wakes me up and says LO's soother was going off by itself. I went into the room and LO was wide awake (highly unusual) and his soother was on. He has one of those baby einstein fish soothers and it was on the music setting, which means someone had to actually switch the setting b/c we had it on the bubble noises. It was REALLY creepy.
So.... anyone have any experience with this kind of stuff? I am thinking of looking into the history of our house and trying to figure out (if ghosts do exist) what the obsession with LO is. I wouldn't care if it was me but obviously I'm protective of LO..... I know this sounds crazy so flame away but if anyone could help I would be appreciative. If you wanna PM me instead of responding on here just let me know. TIA!
Re: Ghosts? (kina long sorry)
The light and the balloon, eh it happens at my house too. D1 got a balloon at a party and that thing followed me around the house for 2 days, including coming upstairs. We have radiators, so there is no air flow in our house.
And toys with batteries, they are banned in my house for that very reason. They go off for no reason a d freak me out.

Forget the camera and calling ghostbusters. Get out!!! I would!! I totally believe in all that stuff and would not stay. Period end of story.
My DH and I believe in ghosts so I don't think you are crazy. My brother once saw a ghost apparition of a woman in Colonial clothing in our childhood home (he slept at the foot of my parents bed for months after that). It sounds like your situation could be potentially non-threatening too. We bought our 90yr old house about 18mo ago and did something to protect our property (just in case). We got 4 "St. Michael the Archangel" medallions at our church and buried them in the four corners of our yard. We just wanted to keep out anything bad and thought this seemed like an easy enough idea. We also had a house blessing done through our church (basically they just say some prayers and sprinkle some holy water).
I think the only way you would know for real if it is a ghost is more information. Good luck!
How old is your townhouse? Our house was built in 1940 so it's pretty old...creaking stairs, radiators that clank and banking noises from the 30 yrs old furnace...it gets a little creepy around here, but I don't let old house noises bother me. Lights going on by themselves is a different story.
You could find a medium to walk through the house and tell you if the energies in your house are good or bad.
Wow...that's really creepy! Seems like "it" likes the baby...
Nothing of that extreme has happened in our home, but since LO has been with us here I've noticed a few things that have been creepy, thought I've heard things on the monitor, and just had a "feeling" a couple times....nothing like lights, balloons, toys, etc. wow. I thought I was freaked out. I don't know what I'd do if I was you. Look into the history, that's a good idea- but be careful when it comes to mediums, cleanings, etc. It's hard to tell the phony's from the real ones I'm sure.
PLEASE keep us updated.
I can't stress it enough to really be careful if you try to "contact" it or have a house blessing. That kind of thing has been known to make things worse if you don't go about it the right way.
Our house is kinda old (built in the 60's). We had been in the house for 4 years before having our DD. We turned our 2nd largest room up stairs into the nursery. When DD was moved into her room at 6 weeks, I started to feel a presence. I could feel it standing in the same spot staring at me when I would be rocking DD in the early AM. It was a crushing feeling...it just staring at me. It felt bothered by sharing a room with a baby, but it was never violent (thank God). Finally after weeks of anxiety over facing it every night, I got up my nerve to just tell it how I felt. I think it understood where I was coming from. I said, "I understand that you're here and that our family has now disturbed you. If you're going to be friendly, you can stay and watch over DD. Protect her. If not, then you can move on. We have to live here now, you don't have to stay." It may have all just been in my head, but I never had that feeling again.
I read this last night in the middle of the night while feeding DD and your stories gave me chills and freaked me out!
I can't say I believe in ghosts, but if that stuff was happening in my house I would freak the fluck out for sure. GL figuring it out!
I dunno but that just totally creeped me out.

I agree with this!!! Creepy!!
I don't believe in ghosts (but that doesn't stop me from being afraid sometimes... I'm silly like that.) and LO always stares at nothing. I always say he's watching the house ghosts. Sometimes he'll be staring right behind my head and suddenly get this "Oh Sh!t, WTF is that?!?!" look on his face so I turn around all fast, there's never anything but it freaks me out. Nothing has ever happened, no lights, no sounds, no toys. Sometimes out of nowhere one of my dogs will wake up from a dead sleep, run to the side of the bed and start growling and barking like he does when there's a stranger trying to get too close to me or him. That really freaks me out because he never did it until we moved here.
Now for your situation, I watch too many horror movies, I can't get enough of them though I'm a giant sissy and have nightmares all the time. I would be too scared of putting up a camera or contacting anyone (ever see paranormal?) not just because it might make it mad, but because if it is something and I saw video evidence of it it would make it 100 times worse for me. If it is something, and I'd be skeptical, it doesn't seem to want to hurt you or LO, I'd just pretend it isn't happening. Once you see it on video there really isn't any going back.
This post has me creeped out. I'm going to have nightmares now.
