Late Term and Child Loss

I will Carry you

I highly suggest reading "I Will Carry You" by Angie Smith. I think so many people can benefit from it. After Keegan passed away two and half months ago I have been sent books by foundations and gotten with a group of women who have lost children at my church.

They suggested this book be read as part of our study and I can't agree more. If you feel you are ready to read someone else story and aren't offended by God/Heaven/Jesus then I highly recommend it. I also have a few more I can recommend if anyone needs addiational reading material.

I try to read one of these kind of books along with a "pleasure" book all the time.

  • I started reading it 2 days after I lost Thomas and finished it in 2 days.  Its a great book.  It was very helpful in coping!

  • I bought that in September (a year after my loss) and couldnt put it down.  I read it in literally 2 hours.  I love it so much, and the song they wrote is perfect, too!  I have the song on my phone, so when I have days where I feel like the world is against me, I just play it and sob.

  • I love that book!  My friend who had a baby with trisomy 13 about a month ago suggested it and sent it to me while I was still pregnant. I really felt like I could relate to all of the things that she was going through. I had asked DH to read the section for dads in the back for several weeks until it became a bit of a sore subject and I just gave it up. The night before Avery's funeral I rolled over to find him reading it through tears by the light of his phone. The song is beautiful. Sometimes I sit an play it and Matt Hammit's you're gonna have all of me on repeat.
