BFing and teeth. Ouch!

Anyone here BFing LOs with teeth? DS is getting 3 teeth at the same time. My nips are taking a beating right now. Someone please tell me it gets better. Anyone have tips/tricks? He isn't biting me, but his teeth are definitely scraping.

    My LO has both her bottom teeth and it isn't too bad but when she gets upset she has bitten down. I have been telling her no bite in a stern voice as I unlatch her for a moment. They say by 6 mo they can start to 'get it' by tone of voice. I feel like she still can't do anything wrong so I feel weird doing this but when she is biting or pinching I have been being a little more stern because I would like to nip it in the bud.

    Eeek same here! When she bites I pop my nipple out of her mouth and say "no biting" very seriously. I do it as many times as it takes for her to suckle without using her teeth. I think she's catching on.

    Ugh, sorry you're going through that!  My DD has her 2 bottom teeth, but thankfully, has only bit me twice, when they first came in.  I unlatched her quickly and said firmly, "no bite."  I kept her off for about 30 seconds or so, then latched her again.  I haven't tried this, but my girlfriend swears by it every time.  She pushes her DS's head gently into her breast to get him to unlatch (they will pull back because they can't breath for that quick second).

    I have nothing constructive to add, except moral support. Ian's not biting you...you're LUCKY! Collin had his 2 bottom ones come in at once 2 weeks ago. I totally thought "hey, this isnt so bad! his tongue covers his bottom teeth while he nurses"...and then he started doing his "thing" during nursing, that wasnt so bad when he was all gums - biting down so as to not lose the nip while he leans back to rub his eyes. OMG it's like having my nips cut with a dull razor blade. No blood drawn yet, but a WHOLE lot of pain/screams/scowls that make him giggle/etc. Be glad you dont have a biter!

    Oh, geeze. This is making my nips hurt for you. I'm sure the biting is coming, though. I always said I would like to BF for a year IF we can make it past teeth.

    Yea, I've already considered going to EP'ing just so I dont have to deal with my little nipper and stll reach my goal of BF'ing in general for a year...but at the same time I hate to deny him of comfort nursing himself to sleep at night, or back to sleep in the middle of the night. The biting has typically been reserved for mid-day feedings when he's fighting a nap...this kid HATES to nap.

    We just got both the bottom teeth and right now when DS eats his tongue blocks his teeth.  I am worried for when the top teeth come in and there is NO tongue there to block it.  If DS starts biting, depending on how much it hurts I am not too sure how much longer EBF will happen!
