Ugh, being sick when pregnant sucks.

I woke up today with a horrible sore throat and earache. The sore throat is a bit better, but my ear keeps throbbing/twinging every couple of minutes. Normally I would wait it out, take some Advil and call the doctor if it doesn't get better in a day or two. But I have no clue how to handle this when pregnant. 

My husband says I should try to get into my PCP right away, but I don't know if I want to take meds unless I absolutely have to. Grrr, the what ifs are driving me crazy today.

DH dx azoospermia My dx: RA & AMA
d-IUI's--6/10, 7/13 & 8/4: all BFN
d-IVF#1--Lupron/Menopur/Bravelle/Novarel; mini-dose protocol
ER: 10/25--18R; 14F; ET: 10/28--3dt of 2 embies; 3 blasts frozen
+ HPT 11/4; Beta #1--14dp3dt: 441; Beta #2--21dp3dt: 9298
One beautiful jelly bean growing! Saw h/b on 11/28 and 12/5!!!

    I hope you feel better soon!
    Lots of natural cycles, 2 IUIs, and 3 IVFs later, our miracle girl/boy twins were born 08.04.12 at 35w6d. We are in love!

    You could call your OB and let him/her know that you are sick.  They will be able to help you.  I hope you feel better soon.

    I agree with PP about calling your OB.  But if you have a history of ear aches that clear up fairly quickly with advil, I wonder if tylenol would do the trick?  I hate taking meds while pregnant too, but my OB told me it is better to take something and feel better than to have the increased stress to both me and LO.

    Thanks everyone. I think I am going to take some Tylenol and rest today. If it isnt any better tomorrow I will call. Usually I will have to get meds for earaches...I get one every couple of years. My allergies have been super bad lately, so I think eveything is all blocked up. Gotta love Florida "winter".

    Feel better soon! I just got over a week long head cold and it sucked!

    No kidding! I had had a cold since Friday. I am resorting to taking unison to clear the nose and to get some sleep at night. I also had to take my albuterol because my lungs are getting angry. These are the first drugs I have had the entire pregnancy.

    IVF #1 ET 1 d3 embryo 10/30/11 BFP
    3 Embryos frozen (1 d5, 2 d6)

    DS born 07/29/12

    FET #1 ET 1 d5 embryo 02/10/15 BFN

    FET #2 1 d6 embryo didn't survive thaw, transferred last d6. CP :(

    Yuck.  Try breathing in steam over a pot of boiling water, and some saline nasal spray (med free).  It might help a bit.  Hope you feel better soon!

    awww hope you feel better soon!!! i know i've been battling crazy sinus issues, but i don't want to take anything, so sometimes when pain get's too annoying, i just take tylenol.

    Being sick already sucks, but being sick while being pregnant is even worse since you aren't able to take certain meds. I hope that you feel better soon!
