I know two.

One: Jamison, whom I went to high school

Two: my brother's best friend's older sister just had her third son and his name is Jameson.

Both go by their given names.

Thanks! We had it on our short list for our son but H thought he'd be called Jamie and hated that because it sounds girly to him. I said we could call him Jay or even Jimmy since the name means son of James and that's a nn for James. We're still toying with it for #2 so I was curious (i'm not even pregnant.)

Hopefully this doesn't offend anyone, but as a former bartender, my first thought would always be that a child named Jameson had alcoholic parents.

Yes. I went to school/church with him. Pretty nice guy... super smart...and WAY hot. All the girls had crushes on him when we were kids/teens.

When we were Jr high and younger, he was called Jamie. Then in high school it was James. I think most people still call him James, but his proper name is Jameson.

I knew a ten year old boy named Jameson. His mom would sometimes call him Jamesy but that was just a pet name. He didn't have a real nickname. I like the name.

I knew of a Jameson and loved it. Everyone I know called him Jameson. This was on my short list of names, but H didn't really care for it. Great name!

I like the name, but unfortunately it reminds me of Whiskey. I was a barmaid in college and had some regular order Jameson on the rocks all the time. So, he ruined it. Now I can't get it out of my head.

Well, i'm used to that... i'm irish Wink

Honestly the booze association doesn't bother me at all, but my brother kept saying it reminded him of Jenna Jemeson and I'm really not into naming children after porn stars LOL

For some reason, the name just sticks and I can't get it off "the list." I think it may be a little cutesy though, since H's name is James. Plus our DS1's name ends in -on. I just keep coming back to it...

Hopefully we have a girl next- those names seem to be way easier for us to agree on!
